Congratulations to a trio of new, homegrown AlbionVC Partners
It is with great pleasure that today we announce that Investment Directors David Grimm, Jay Wilson and Simon Goldman have been promoted to Partner.
Since joining AlbionVC, they’ve led multiple investments in category leading companies across Deeptech, Fintech, SaaS and biotech. Their ongoing support, often as board members, is enabling entrepreneurs to build some of the UK’s most exciting global companies.
David Grimm joined the UCL Technology Fund team at AlbionVC in 2016, and he has successfully positioned AlbionVC as a driving force in early-stage Deeptech. David led the first institutional investments in a number of fast scaling companies including Carbon Re, Hazy, Humanloop and Phasecraft. David is passionate about helping UCL innovators build global companies at the cutting edge of scientific research and commercialisation.
Having joined AlbionVC as Investment Manager in 2019, Jay Wilson has played a pivotal role in driving innovation, data led origination and spearheading investments in fintech, SaaS and data. He has led investments in Accelex, Peppy, Solidatus and Toqio. As a Partner he will continue to build AlbionVC’s investment focus on fintech and data.
Simon Goldman has been a leading investor in Life Sciences since joining UCL Technology Fund team at AlbionVC in 2015. His expertise in biotech has led to investments in companies solving the world’s biggest healthcare challenges and saw four of the Fund’s biotech investments IPO on Nasdaq. As a partner, Simon will continue backing life science innovation coming out of the UCL’s vast research base.
“These promotions are a testament to the talent and expertise that David, Jay and Simon have consistently demonstrated throughout their time at AlbionVC,” said Will Fraser-Allen, Managing Partner at AlbionVC. “Their pursuit of excellence and deep expertise have been instrumental in Albion’s growth and investment success in recent years and this announcement marks the next step in their journeys, but also Albion’s.”
Congratulations to David, Jay and Simon!
