Patrick qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells before joining Cazenove & Co in the corporate finance department. He joined Close Brothers Group in 1989, where he was a director of the private equity and corporate finance divisions. He established Close Ventures in 1996 and led the management buyout in 2009 to create the Albion of today.

Patrick has an MA in Modern Languages from Oxford University.

Adam focuses on opportunities in B2B software and Climatetech, exploring companies with the goal to make a positive impact on the move to Net Zero. Adam started his career in M&A investment banking at Rothschild before joining AlbionVC in 2013. Since joining Adam has invested, advised, and sat on the board of companies across a broad range of sectors including involvement in raising and deploying over £150m of funds into the Renewable Energy sector. Adam looks to invest in, and work alongside, exceptional founder teams, such as tem, who are driven by making tangible impact to their ecosystem.

Adam holds a BA (Hons) degree in Industrial Economics and a masters in Corporate Strategy and Governance from the University of Nottingham.

A former neurosurgeon, Andrew focuses on medical technologies and technology-enabled services to the healthcare and life-science sectors.He has invested in sectors ranging from digital health, diagnostics and imaging, machine learning applications and therapeutics, including cell and gene therapies. Andrew leads partnerships with universities including UCL and is a Member of Investment Committee at the British Business Bank.
Prior to joining AlbionVC he specialised in healthcare strategy at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He holds degrees in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Cat focuses on investments at the intersection of technology, markets, and geopolitics, with particular emphasis on cybersecurity, digital risk, defence, energy, and financial infrastructure. Her work centres on companies transforming critical and legacy systems, often in sectors that are technically complex, politically sensitive, and increasingly central to economic resilience and societal functioning.

She approaches venture through an economic lens, with a long-standing interest in how capital allocation, ownership, and governance shape long-term outcomes. Prior to joining AlbionVC in 2018, Cat worked at Goldman Sachs in New York and London. She holds a degree in Economics from Harvard University.Personal

A former medical doctor and ex-strategy consultant with Bain & Co, Christoph has been investing in healthcare companies since 2006, initially with 3i Group before running M&A for General Electric’s digital health division.
Since joining AlbionVC in 2011, Christoph has partnered with businesses that span the breadth of healthcare, from early-stage biotech to eClinical technologies to telehealth. He is passionate about working with mission-driven founders, and enjoys using his expertise and networks to support the talented management teams changing the landscape of European healthcare today.

Christoph holds a doctorate in medicine from Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, and an MBA from INSEAD.

David focuses on deeptech opportunities, including quantum computing, machine learning, data analytics, energy and hardware. He spent 10 years investing in early-stage technology-differentiated opportunities, including 4 years at Spark Ventures before joining AlbionVC. Dave is a leading voice on sovereign compute and procurement strategies in the UK, regularly advising the DSTI and DBT on initiatives.He started his career at Detica before his interest in using high growth businesses to make real impact led to him moving to China to work in an FMCG startup and then moving to the investment side.

David holds an M.Sci in Natural Sciences (Mathematics and Chemistry).

Ed has been with us since 2004 and heads up our tech team. He is ever-curious, and discovers and nurtures startups that go on to make waves in sectors spanning B2B software, fintech, cyber, AI and deeptech.
He was the first institutional investor in leading global decision intelligence frim Quantexa and cybersecurity leader Egress (acquired by KnowB4). He was also an early investor in fintech Credit Kudos (acquired by Apple) and leading blockchain analytics firm Elliptic. Ed won investor of the year at the 2025 GP Bullhound Annual Investor Awards.

Ed graduated from UCL with a degree in philosophy and completed a stint in banking with ING Barings & Charterhouse, where he advised public companies on equity financing and M&A during the dotcom boom/bust, before joining Albion.

Nadine joined AlbionVC in 2018 with a broad interest in all B2B software opportunities. Before this she was an investor in pre-seed and seed companies at Berytech, one of the first VC funds in the Middle East. She is passionate about supporting founders from the earliest stages of their journey to realise their vision.

Nadine holds a B.Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineer from AUB and M.Sc. in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from Brown University.

A former operator who brings a wealth of experience in tech to his role, Paul joined AlbionVC in 2019 and focuses on enterprise software spanning the API economy, fintech, data/AI and B2B marketplaces. 

The French Londoner was previously finance director at worldwide app Citymapper, having joined the company when it had fewer than 10 employees. Paul also previously worked in business operations at ticketing startup Viagogo. These experiences means that he understands the challenges founders face, and the importance of positive relationships with investors. Before moving to startups, Paul worked in M&A at Citigroup. 

Paul holds a BA in Politics & Economics from Sciences Po Paris and a Dual Masters Degree of Sciences Po Paris and The London School of Economics & Political Science.

Having been investing in technology with us since 2005, Robert focuses on finding and supporting exciting companies operating in the deeptech and AI/data-spaces. 

Robert is always on the lookout for innovative, mission-driven founders creating change and has worked at board level with numerous of companies in a range of economic contexts. Whenever Robert backs a founder and their team, he brings this expertise to the table. He always on-hand to offer input on strategy and organisational design to culture, leadership, finance and fundraising.

The investor started out at KPMG, then built up further finance experience at Credit Suisse First Boston and ING Barings before joining AlbionVC.

Robert holds a BA (Hons) degree in History and is qualified as a chartered accountant.

Marco joined Albion in 2007 and specialises in energy related investments. He has deep knowledge and understanding of energy generation, distribution, balancing, storage as well as servicing the sector and has led over 20 investments to date. Prior to joining Albion, he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor with Bouygues (UK). He is also an Honorary Lecturer at UCL.

Marco holds a first-class degree in Economics from Cambridge University and a PhD in Construction Economics from UCL.

Vikash joined Albion in 2010 and oversees the finance and administration of all funds. He is a member of Albion’s Executive, Valuation and Risk Management Committees. Vikash qualified as a chartered accountant with RSM and latterly worked in its corporate finance team before joining Albion.

He has a BA (Hons) in Accountancy & Finance from Nottingham Business School.

Will is a VC veteran who was an early backer of the Booking.com founders and has invested in successful companies spanning sectors as diverse as leisure, media, business services, and healthcare. 

A qualified chartered accountant, Will also has a proven track record in corporate finance having qualified with CLB in 1996 and then joined the firm’s corporate finance team.

Will is able to share insights with entrepreneurs that he has acquired through decades spent advising and sitting on the boards of companies. He believes that the best founders are “supremely confident in their vision, but humble enough to recognise they need good people around them”. 

He holds a BA Hons in History from Southampton University.

Bryony joined Albion in 2022 and helps develop relationships with Financial Intermediaries. Prior to joining she was at the Foresight Group focusing on raising the profile of Foresight’s tax efficient products and open ended funds in the South East. Before that, Bryony spent time in client facing roles across various sectors.

Bryony holds a BSc in Psychology and Anthropology from Oxford Brookes University.

Stuart joined Albion in 2012 and is responsible for raising the profile of the Albion VCT offerings with Wealth Managers, Private Banks and Family offices. Prior to Albion Stuart held senior sales roles with several leading fund management houses in both the equity and fixed income markets as well as the tax efficient space.

Sarah is the Shareholder Liaison Officer at AlbionVC, serving as the primary point of contact for shareholders across the firm’s Venture Capital Trusts. She supports investor communications and shareholder relations, ensuring VCT investors receive timely, accurate, and responsive service

Hannah drives Albion’s storytelling and media strategy, helping shape how the firm communicates its vision, values and portfolio to the world. A global communications specialist, she brings experience advising high-profile institutional finance, private capital and technology clients from venture-backed start-ups to global banks.

Before joining Albion, Hannah spent several years at international PR and communications firms in New York, London and Dublin advising on strategic communications, media engagement campaigns, executive visibility and reputation management. A passionate advocate for authentic storytelling, she believes strong communication is key to scaling trust and impact in the venture ecosystem.

Hannah holds a BA in International Relations and Politics from University College Dublin

Le Van joined Albion in 2022, she supports branding and communications. Prior to joining Albion, Le Van’s marketing experience was in traditional and alternatives asset management, having started her career on M&G Investment’s graduate scheme.

Le Van holds a BSc in Economics, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the CFA Institute’s Certificate in ESG Investing.

Linda joined Albion in 2016 and heads up all regulatory matters. She initially qualified as a solicitor with Allen & Overy before joining 3i Group first to support investment transactions and fund raisings, then on regulatory matters.

She holds an LLB in Law and French Law from Birmingham University.

Stuart leads fund finance at AlbionVC LLP, overseeing the financial operations across its VCT and venture fund strategies. A chartered accountant by training, Stuart began his career at PKF Chartered Accountants & Business Advisers in Australia before joining Albion in 2010, where he has since built more than fifteen years of expertise in fund accounting and financial management within the venture capital industry. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney, and his chartered accountancy qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.
