Future thinking

Open letter to the Chancellor

As investors, AlbionVC has backed British companies since 1996, across deeptech, healthtech, fintech and software. The founders we back raised their money here, hired here and built here. For many founders, it would be easier to build their next company somewhere else. This letter is about changing that, making the UK the obvious choice rather than the harder one.

Open letter to the Chancellor

I think they really do believe in and buy into long term relationships. It allows you to go on a journey.  As much as the team, the tech and the management team are a big part of what’s allowed us to be successful, there is absolutely no doubt that I would put Ed [Lascelles, Partner AlbionVC] alongside those as being equally important to us.

Tony Pepper, CEO and co-founder Egress
(Acquired 2024 by KnowBe4)

Thanks for your continued support and trust. AlbionVC and Ed Lascelles have been on our journey pretty much from the beginning and it’s been a privilege working with them. Looking forward to the next steps of this amazing journey.

Vishal Marria, CEO and co-founder Quantexa
(Series F Unicorn)

From the early days of founding Oviva, I realised that innovation in healthcare isn’t just about technology—it’s about building trust through transparency. By candidly sharing both our challenges and our successes with our team and our investors, we’ve turned setbacks into opportunities for growth. Albion’s commitment to open dialogue has been pivotal in turning our vision into lasting and sustainable impact.

Kai Eberhardt, CEO and co-founder Oviva (Series D)

From our very first discussion, it became clear that partnering with AlbionVC is about more than just the bottom line—it’s founded on a shared strategic vision and a long-term commitment to cultivating a resilient, growth-oriented culture. This collaborative spirit continues to drive us today as we shape the future of crypto.

Simone Maini, CEO Elliptic
(Series C)

We are incredibly grateful for the support that Albion has shown us over the years and obviously the support that you personally have shown for the company as well. For us one thing that was very valuable in the very early stages of Phasecraft was working with investors that really understood what it was like to have an academically based UK startup.

Ashley Montanaro, CEO & Co-founder Phasecraft (Series B)

We are very blessed to have such great investors behind us. AlbionVC sets the standard in supporting founders building market defining businesses.

David Sutter, CEO and co-founder, OpenTrade
(Series A)

I said they could trust you, you as an individual [Adam Chirkowski, Partner AlbionVC] are one of the best people they could have joined them and they could avoid a lot of noise and disruption if they just focus in your interest

Joe Mcdonald, CEO & Co-founder of tem (Series B)

There’s a whole sort of suite of expertise that, that we’re seeing in Albion – the commercial and the marketing side – Albion were able to bring us a lot to help us just go through that early, early journey.

James Regan, CEO of Oriole Networks (Series A)

I believe in this management team and I believe in this plan…that external validation is critically important for a business’s journey and its gestation.

Rory Blundell, CEO of Gravitee.io (Series C)
