Overview
A former medical doctor and ex-strategy consultant with Bain & Co, Christoph has been investing in healthcare companies since 2006, initially with 3i Group before running M&A for General Electric’s digital health division.
Since joining AlbionVC in 2011, Christoph has partnered with businesses that span the breadth of healthcare, from early-stage biotech to eClinical technologies to telehealth. He is passionate about working with mission-driven founders, and enjoys using his expertise and networks to support the talented management teams changing the landscape of European healthcare today.
Christoph holds a doctorate in medicine from Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, and an MBA from INSEAD.
Personal
A curious mind, Christoph likes to spend his evenings reading books about astrophysics, evolutionary history or neuroscience. On days off, the father-of-three can be found running the streets of London or Surrey, or teaching his kids skiing and snowboarding in the Alps.
“In healthcare, your north star has to be improvement in patient outcomes. Everything else, including financial success follows that.” Christoph says. The partner’s top tip for founders? “Focus on creating an outstanding culture. Changing healthcare is incredibly hard, and to succeed you need to be able to attract and retain the best people”
